Safeguarding Council at St John's

St John's Safeguarding Council meet once a week to plan competitions, safety themes around school and also plan and deliver assemblies around different types of safety. This team are fantastic role models for St John's Primary School.

My name is Layla and I like drawing and street dance. My favourite thing at school is seeing my friends and learning new things. I wanted to be part of the safeguarding Council because I want children to feel like they can always have someone to go too, and they can share their worries. Safeguarding council meetings with Miss Dean are really fun!

My name is Imi and I like drawing and dancing. I spend lots of time with my family. I wanted to join Safeguarding council because I wanted children to be able to talk to me and not feel afraid about sharing their worries. I want to make sure that they know school is a really safe place for them.

My name is Melody and I LOVE swimming. I am about to complete Lifeguard Rookie training which is really important to me. I like dancing! I wanted to be on Safeguarding Council because it is giving me new experiences and I like helping others.

My name is Hetty and I like art, football and science. I want to be the best that I can be! I wanted to be part of the Safeguarding Council because I wanted an opportunity to help other children, work with Miss Dean and make a difference in school.

The Safeguarding team have been working with our Trust Safeguarding lead, Hannah Hurley, to discuss what they would like to do for Safeguarding across the school and how they can work with other children in school. They have had some brilliant ideas!
